Disc Brake CV Joint
- Quality: These are the best joints we've tested since the discontinuation of the original Birfield Hardy Spicer tooling (GKN). Beware of inferior joints on the market featuring poor threads or yellowish nuts.
- Compatibility:
- Fits all Cooper S models and larger 8.4-inch disc brake setups.
- Not compatible with cars that have front drum brakes or 997/998 Coopers, which require the smaller type joint (refer to GCV1105).
- Torque Specifications:
- For older CV joints with two drilled split pin holes:
- Torque to 150 lb-ft, then tighten to the first available split pin hole.
- For later CV joints with a single split pin hole:
- Torque to 193 lb-ft, then tighten to the split pin hole.
- Nut Specification: Comes with a 34mm castle nut.
- Packaging: All parts are sold individually, and two are required per vehicle.
