Modern high-lift, short-duration camshafts place greater demands on valve springs than many older performance spring designs can accommodate. These Mini Spares dual valve springs are designed to provide the required valve control while maintaining adequate clearance at higher valve lifts.
Manufactured from high-quality silicon spring wire, these springs offer excellent resistance to fatigue, loss of spring pressure, and breakage. They are designed for use with standard-style top caps and can be installed directly onto an unmodified cylinder head without the spring-crush concerns associated with many conventional performance springs.
Rated at approximately 200 lb, these dual springs are suitable for engines operating up to 8,000 rpm and camshafts with valve lift up to .515" (13.08 mm).
The standard installed spring height is 1.375" (34.93 mm). Spacer shims may be used to adjust installed height, valve-seat pressure, and overall spring rate. If the cylinder head's spring or valve seats have previously been machined, the installed height should be measured and shimmed as necessary to achieve the correct specification.
The inner spring does not require a separate bottom collar. The inner spring is designed with a slight interference fit, providing friction damping.
