Description
Much of the engine’s torque load is absorbed by the stamped metal bracket that mounts to the firewall. When this bracket begins to fail, a common symptom is a sharp clunking noise during acceleration or deceleration. While some attempt a quick fix by welding a large washer over the cracked area, the correct and lasting solution is to replace the bracket entirely.
