This seal is a standard aftermarket item suitable for regular use.
It is compatible with all Mini models except automatic ones. In 1992, the factory replaced this seal with
Oil Seal, Rear Main, A+, Viton
part number LUF10005, which was designed to better withstand crank pressure buildup. All these options are interchangeable.
It is also advisable to install the plastic
Dust Seal, primary gear
protector shield (part number DAM2821), which is fitted as standard on engines with a Verto clutch.
