Description
The original Mini oil pick-up pipe is positioned along the right-hand edge of the gearbox casing—fine for straight-line driving, but not ideal in right-hand corners. Under sustained cornering, oil can surge to the left, momentarily uncovering the pick-up. This often shows up as a dip on the oil-pressure gauge during long bends, and the risk increases significantly if the oil level is even slightly low.
Oil starvation for only a split second at several thousand RPM can have catastrophic consequences for the engine. This upgraded design helps prevent that by maintaining consistent oil supply and by trapping fine metallic particles and debris that would otherwise accelerate oil-pump wear—proven to significantly extend pump life.
This is a uniquely engineered component, manufactured by us and trusted by leading engine builders. Be cautious of cheaper alternatives on the market; they do not offer the same level of protection or performance.
Note: On early remote-type gearboxes, the hole through which the gauze passes may require slight enlargement, or the gauze may need to be bent clear of the reverse idler gear.
